Door Knobs of the French Quarter

Door Knobs of the French Quarter, New Orleans - Louisiana
This past Sunday I joined some friends in an excursion that will take several days (weeks) to complete, walk every and each single block of the French Quarter in New Orleans, Louisiana. Although I have walked the French Quarter several times in the past 4.5 years, I really have never “walked,” appreciated the diverse architecture and details that this historic neighborhood of New Orleans has to offer.
Door Knobs is the first of many series I will be posting showcasing the French Quarter; there is so much to post!

Ahhh… the beauty in the mundane! Excellent series of photos.
I love those old world/time designs. Beautiful pictures. 🙂
I can see “art”, thanks for sharing!
I actually just got back from my first NOLA visit, and I love how much character the buildings in the French Quarter have. Great images of a beautiful place! 🙂
Absolutely fabulous, and what a great photo project!
I love that you focused on a specific detail. Very nice. I have a ‘thing’ for doors and windows but I’ve never looked close enough to see the door knobs. You’ve inspired me to look a little closer at those doors that catch my eye.

Oh, my! These photos are just fabulous! Can’t wait to see more.
Nice photographs there. What made you took the photos of door nobs? I mean why did you choose this subject? 🙂
New Orleans has a lot of detail in its architecture and culture. I have walked the French Quarter several times, but never paying attention to the small details. I guess this time around, I started to look closer to door details, wrought iron work and door knobs. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Great series – love the detail. Will have to get down to the french quarter – I know it must be such a fascinating place!
I adore door knobs too, love these so ornate….
