This year, I convicted a friend to go to Algiers Point (historic neighborhood located in the West Bank of the mighty Mississippi, directly across from the French Quarter, New Orleans), and camp out, eat some McClure’s BBQ, drink cheap beer, and enjoy the firework show. After all, it was my first celebration of independence as an American citizen.
Keep the lights on the Crescent City Connection bridge in New Orleans.
There us much talk about the Crescent City Connection bridge lights lately. Apparently, the city cannot afford to pay the electrical bill, for real? Please people, don’t pocket the money and pay Entergy on time. Thank You!
I took these pictures during Fleet Week 2012 in New Orleans on an escapade to the Westbank on the ferry.

A View of New Orleans from Algiers Point
Last year, I took a photographic workshop from the New Orleans Academy of FIne Arts focusing on New Orleans at NIght. This particular day, I got to ride the Algiers ferry for the first time crossing the Mississippi river from Downtown New Orleans to the historic neighborhood of Algiers Point. The ferry ride is free, so it is a great option to consider when looking for inexpensive adventures while in the city.
